  • It’s always really funny to me when games try and have NPCs talk about the main story or something. Like in every far cry game the first thing I do when given control is go and absolutely Max out my character and get all the unlocks and fast travel points I can before I start hitting stuff that’s locked behind main story progression. The whole time I’m running around and unlocking towers and guns you’ll get passing NPCs talking about the urgent thing that needs to happen right away.

Some devs are getting smarter about these things and only giving you a few side quests per main story quest finished so you have to progress through the main story to get all the powerful shit you want.

  • That is simply not true. 130kph is the recommended speed. For certain marked stretches of the Autobahn there is no speed limit and it is understood that you do not pull into the left lane without checking for fast moving cars behind you. If they find that you still would have crashed if you had been going 130kph you are unlikely to be held responsible.

She was filming a video at the time and when she woke up in the hospital days later the German police told her what had happened and she was not found to be at fault at all. The deceased person who had pulled into the left lane without checking was entirely at fault. She flew home as soon as the German doctors had done the major surgery to her legs and spine.

My mom’s entire side of the family is German and many of them still live in Germany. Talks about the Autobahn have come up at family gatherings on multiple occasions.

I am willing to admit my data might be out of date, but from a quick Google it appears to still be the same rules.

  • It’s about 3 times the speed limit for most highways in most places. Give or take.

The stopping distance at those speeds is 500+ meters.

Even with the best tires, brakes and driver that’s several football fields end to end before that car comes to a stop. If anything happens at those speeds it is unlikely the driver will be able to do anything about it in time.

There was a woman that worked for a car magazine that was doing a video on the Autobahn and someone pulled out in front of her around those speeds she instantly killed everyone on the vehicle she hit and she was left permanently injured and barely able to walk. She wasn’t even at fault in that situation either. It’s the job of the people pulling into the fast lane to check for fast moving cars and for whatever reason they didn’t.

You friend is playing a dangerous game with more than their own life.

  • As someone who has played competitive FPS games at a highish level in multiple games for most of his life I cannot fathom why they ever combined the two in the first place. Like I obviously understand more players and quicker matchmaking, but at the cost of competitive fairness??? No thanks.

Controllers playing against PC is fine without any any aim assist as that is just straight up a disadvantage for the controller player 99.9999% of the time, but the moment they add any aim assist to the controller it kills competitive integrity.

Controller players should only ever go up against other controller players if any amount of aim assistance is turned on and same goes for mouse and keyboard. That shit should not be on consoles and allowed to play against controllers for any reason.

I pretty much dropped Apex Legends entirely just because I wasn’t having fun anymore. I was a diamond player on M+KB and getting laserbeamed from across the map by a controller player just was not fun. Just like I am sure they hated getting hit by a nasty flick only possible with a mouse.

Player input uniformity is one of my biggest gaming gear grinding situations. It’s especially problematic with my favorite genre of games: competitive FPS games.

  • Obviously we install a padded arm that grabs the pedestrians and throws them back onto the curb so they learn not to just walk out in front of the moving vehicles.

Idk how it is where y’all live but generally people only jaywalk when there aren’t cars driving on the road at that moment. Other than crosswalks it’s kinda expected that if you are going to jaywalk you are going to do it when no car will have to stop or slow down to avoid you. Obviously not everyone follows that rule but generally speaking.
