I tried scrambling an egg using the vortexer (it didn’t work)

I rarely arrived at the lab before 10am as an undergrad intern. (And usually stayed until 7–8pm because I goofed around too much and it took forever to get all the cells taken care of 🫠)
Flexible schedules are a luxury I miss dearly
we used Macs at my last lab
I hated them because I’m a Linux nerd but at least they were reliable
(I suppose if my research PC ran Linux I’d spend all my time configuring it instead of researching…!)
only a cuntcunt would propose this
In addition to other reasons listed in replies, there’s a fair bit of bacteria that excrete antifungal compounds into their environment so that they can colonize it more effectively than the mold.
There are viruses that attack fungi, too.
Any environment that hasn’t been sterilized by some means is a constant microbial warzone between bacteria, fungi, algae, archea, viruses, etc. with the current winners being determined by how favorable the conditions (moisture, pH, toxin concentration, etc.) are to each species.
recently became lactose intolerant (and less recently became disgusted with the dairy industry in my country) so I too would be excited about non dairy chocolate oranges
(though heavy metal contamination of many cocoa brands scares me too…)
or pee my name in the snow!
mum says it’s my turn on the female internet slot!
yeah it’s wild. every time i open Lemmy any internet application I turn into a guy? it’s very handy when the women’s bathroom line is too long
where do you think the piss came from?
also the spirits of mines that are sometimes benevolent and sometimes malevolent
cobalt is named after them because it was a toxic ore seen as a contaminant that caused injury and death to miners
I actually use a decade old version of this to control a very expensive machine at work which is simultaneously surreal and validating of all the time I wasted spent learning linux from my teens onward
happy furniture hunting! :]
Fun fact you can hack a self-cleaning oven to use the hellfire temperature of 500 ° F to make good ass thin crust pizza!
you have to figure out how to bypass the door lock, use a pizza stone, and put the pizza as high up in the oven as possible. but you can get a damn good thin crust pizza with enough creative engineering and some experimentation.
recommended to try this project in winter as it dumps loads of heat in the house lol
I have a tiny kitchen but also an appliance addiction. I have an entire folding table dedicated to all my beautiful machines for which I lack counter space, lol
When I lived in a studio with negligible counter space, the portable dishwasher sat atop one of those commercial grade wire rolling racks, which also doubled as shelves for my irresponsible amount of spices
Don’t let lack of counter space stifle your maximalism. Just make more counter space lol
didn’t realize there was a system adaptation based on it. very cool!

Mother I feel like changed the way I view storytelling and RPG game design, like I use it as a mental benchmark for story-driven and/or turn based RPGs
Like I don’t think I would have appreciated OFF or Omori the same way without having played Mother games as a teen
I’ve gotten 2 skin burns from chemicals with a nitrile glove breakthrough time of <1 second
underfunded undergrad lab classes without heavy duty gloves shouldn’t be allowed to use fuming nitric acid >:(
