Lovecraft is dead, meaning he can’t hurt anyone. Rowling actively uses the money she makes off the franchise to hurt people, and even the most indirect forms of advertisement for her IP ultimately help her profit and then use those profits to do harm.

I’m not sure what you mean, but quite a lot of channels write a script first rather than ad-libbing. Not always, obviously if it’s something that was recorded or streamed live there won’t be a script, but you seem to be suggesting that scripted content is some ultra rare anomaly.

If you already script your videos, you can just upload the script. From there Youtube will automatically sync it to the video.

I miss the days when development cycles were short enough that spinoffs could be released alongside main series games without feeling like one was detracting from the other. I miss the days when every big IP had a goofy and experimental straight-to-handheld companion piece.

The second CPU is the GBA CPU, but at twice the clockspeed (which can then downclock for GBA games). You’re double-counting it and making it sound like the system had three.

The 3DS is the real funny one, adding its own new CPU alongside both the DS and GBA CPUs. So that’s actually three.

I really don’t trust BlueSky. I feel like they call themselves federated as a marketing gimmick to convince people they’re better than every other corporate social network, but they’ve deliberately set it up so that 99.9% of everything is going through their central server anyway. And it frustrates me that a lot of people have bought into that lie. Fediverse has been here delivering on everything BlueSky promised to be and did so long before BlueSky even existed, and yet no one cares because BlueSky had the venture capital to push a bigger marketing campaign.

Unfortunately, people jumping ship from BlueSky still aren’t coming over here. So I don’t know what to make of this news really, I know it doesn’t mean what I wish it would mean.

South Park has had some really good moments. The last season was especially fantastic.

But South Park has also had many equally terrible moments. They’ve been pretty awful on trans issues. The whole PC Principal arc really said a lot about who Matt and Trey are as people. And even if they eventually walked it back, the fact that they tried to deny climate change has to be brought up in conversations like this.

For the most part, I’d say the show has been at its best when it’s kids getting into hijinks and at its worst when Matt and Trey use the show as their mouthpiece.

Play niche indie/retro multiplayer games, join a community small and tight-knit enough that everybody knows everybody, so you can easily become a regular in the scene.

I begrudgingly put up with Puyo Puyo Tetris back when it was the only way to officially play Puyo Puyo in the west, but it is the worst thing that ever happened to the franchise. Only thing I hate more than the game itself is the impact it had on the series, because Sega has done nothing but lazily rehash it four times. It’s been a full decade since the last proper main series game and there’s still no word on when or if we’ll ever get another.

The practical difference is that the code is there for whoever wants to use it.

What do you mean “never contributed back”? All of these projects give their source code back, as the GPL requires.

I got my degree in CS a decade ago, but wasn’t able to get my foot in the door finding any entry level position in the field. Had to give up and work a shitty unrelated job elsewhere, but after letting it drain my my soul for too long I’ve spent all year searching again. But no matter how many resumes I fire out into the void I have yet to get as far as even a single interview. It still feels like my degree isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. The only thing recruiters want is 5 years of experience in some technology that came out 2 years ago, and I can’t get experience because I don’t have experience.
