Personally, I disagree with the first and agree with the latter. I have a Nest Hub, and there are no ads on that. But I would still urge the redditor and myself to get acquainted with Home Assistant instead of bothering with the offerings from Google and Amazon.

As I mentioned in my post about the apps I kept when switching to GrapheneOS, self- hosting PinePods and using AntennaPod on your phone is a great option! That way you can still have web and desktop sync. I also said in that post:

The time to jump ship seems to be getting closer. I think Pocket Casts will join a future version of my apps that I got rid of when switching to GrapheneOS post.

I used it today to make a template, that I could then edit to fit my writing style, and send from my own email provider really easily, because the site also let’s you copy the email addresses of your representatives in one click.
But the site will also let you send a pre-made message with no effort really needed from you. I just had some time and energy today, so went the extra mile.
I also really like how it tracks the stance of your representative, and you can read their response to the issue. Most of my country’s representatives are currently on vacation, but I did get an answer back from one of them, which was pretty cool (Very informally written, with an included “Sent from my iPhone” signature, hahaha).
You just made me fall into a rabbit hole on YouTube of people cleaning their keyboards with dishwashers. That is absolutely wild to me, and I never would’ve thought of doing that. I have a K70, but I don’t think I dare use a dishwasher to clean it, hahaha.

When no one has saved a snapshot yet, it asks me if I want to, and I tell it yes, and then it creates a snapshot, and I can see the site. Is that what you mean, when you say it fails? That you have to say yes to it making a snapshot?

Never had an issue yet. There was one time where a page looked a bit weird on my phone, and I couldn’t see the very last paragraph of the article. But enabling desktop mode in my browser fixed it.

I didn’t consider that, but I think that’s a really good point. It makes sense to me, because I could see myself applying that kind of logic. Makes the 30ish min. rule make more sense.

I’ve read that thing about running water before, and I’ve always wondered - is it really expected that you run the tap for 30 min.? I know it’s for the good of the skin, and super important, but I always struggle with running the tap for that long.
