Russell Brand’s journey – such as it is, in every sense of the word – is currently seeing him praying on stage in front of large numbers of Republicans across America. You might remember him getting up close and spiritual with Tucker Carlson a while back, and now he’s getting high and almighty with fellow […]
Man, this really sucks. I’m not gonna lie, I really enjoyed russell brand for a time. I thought that his charismatic atheistic spiritualism was refreshing, in that he clearly was charismatic enough to start a cult, but instead chose to lambast religious institutions and their patriarchal structures of control. I’m just so disappointed in him. He is clearly well-versed in argument, and has convinced himself that through prostrating to a symbol of divinity he can regain his own feeling of self-worth, but he knows deep in his heart this is a lie. A comforting false-hood he clings to to help him sleep at night. He knows, as well as anybody who graduated AA, that it is only in acknowledging ones faults that you can atone for them. Death bed confessions and praying the rosary doesn’t help the victims, russell. Using people like they were inanimate sex objects fucks people up russell. You did that. You used your power and influence to abuse women for your own sexual gratification, and no amount of public (i.e. insincere) prayer is going to make it better.
