My previous pile of wood has reached its maximum height I think:

On @redlemace@lemmy.world’s advice, I stacked the new pile in a criss-cross pattern. It certainly is more compact and more stable, but also finding adequately-sized logs to make the pile grow straight is a somewhat OCD exercise that I don’t care that much for.
Also, my pile doesn’t look as nice as in other people’s photos 🙂 But hey, it’s functional.



Do the various stacking methods affect how the wood dries or burns? I have it stuck in my head from somewhere that stacking with that cross pattern is better for letting the logs get and stay dried out.
