The third was arguably the best one they’ve made so far.
I would say that each one has genuinely gotten better and better.
The trick was to remove all of the human characters.
By that measure, the second movie was better and worse than the first, cause the fucking wedding scenes. And don’t get me started on the Wade Whipple & Knuckles show.
But yeah, downplaying the human roles like the third movie and making way for more animated Sonic characters is a step in the right direction for the franchise. Adding more tunes and themes from the games to the soundtrack is also a positive.
My favorite part of the knuckles show is that its now cannon that knuckles is Jewish and I love to throw that fact at people.
If I had a nickel for every time the Holocaust was alluded to in Sonic media, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but why the fuck did it happen twice?!
