Because I’m reading a book right now about merchants, pirates & slavery, and it all reads like what Pirates o/t Carribean really should’ve been like: multiple heroes, no clear “goodies” or “baddies” - yet with all the action, panache, and even better magic.
For modern (as in present day) pirate films the only one I can think of is Captain Phillips (the origin of the “look at me, I’m the captain now” meme).
Thanks. With Tom hanks in the lead it looks like s classical USA=goodies vs. baddies and of course the goodies win in the end… Have you seen it? I want to be on the side of the mutineers.
