Well, we lost another studio. Goodbye, Warner Bros. (1923 - 2026), it’s been an amazing run.

Another studio and potentially more projects that won’t see the light of day because of tax write-offs to offset the debt.
I just want to take a minute to be thankful for Coyote vs. Acme.
If I recall correctly, it was originally going to be a straight to streaming movie, then it was scrapped (despite good reception). Then, WB sold the movie to Ketchup.
The fact that not only did this movie get saved, but it was also released IN THEATERS (a reminder: it was only ever supposed to be released on streaming) AND is going to get released on 4K Blu-ray with Dolby Vision/Atmos (which almost never happens for streaming originals) is nothing short of a miracle.
And it happened right before the Paramount merger, too, which would have killed its chances even further! And if anything, getting canceled only made the movie’s plot feel more poignant.
So, if nothing else, I’m glad that Coyote vs. Acme got to see the light of day after all. But the movie getting a wide theatrical release and a high-end physical media release was probably a million-to-one chance, and I’ll always be grateful that we got that experience.
Gross.
RIP Star Trek, although it’s been shit for several years already
