    It’s the idiot’s curse. A cage of their own making. To believe that because they’re incapable of understanding how it was done or they themselves lack the skill and imagination to figure how do it, therefore no one understands or can do it.

      My own explanation is that their arrogance doesn’t allow them to even conceive how our ancestors could be engineers.

      Edit:

      Ironically, people like our ancestors survived… whereas a majority of humans today would perish if you pull the plug on electricity.

        History is built on a mountain of corpses. The default answer to “what would they do if something went wrong”, has almost always been “die horribly”.
