I think I will always fondly remember the first time I was living in Japan and I accidentally knocked a salt shaker over, right onto the floor. And I just had no idea how to get a bunch of salt out of a tatami mat. Fortunately, it didn’t really matter, because it was salt, and I just left it there.

If you’d ever been to West Virginia, you’d understand why it has basically no pedestrians. Rural, mountainous, no public transit, not much of anywhere worth walking to, etc.



I am 40 and we weren’t saying that in high school or college. Regional, maybe.
