Didn’t they fix that in a more recent build? I could’ve sworn I’d read that it was rebuilt in… Not react

You’re sweet Buck, have a nice day, you ray of sunshine!

I’m studying psych right now as part of my software development degree plan. Memory is super faulty. Within 24 hours of committing something to memory, almost half of it will be gone. Within a month, nearly all of it will be gone. This gets exacerbated by oversaturation of information since we (humans) can only reliably store around 5-9 things in our short term memory at a time before committing to long term memory, surpassing these limits results in data corruption, confusion, or selective amnesia.
Knowing this, I most like read something about Futo and read something about Omacom getting grants on the same page and my wires got crossed and conflated the two. Is this fact? No, it’s presumption based on my limited knowledge of how memory works, but it seems likely.

I do my web development on a 2005 era windows XP machine without the unofficial SP4 because if it will run there (without silverlight) I know for damn sure it will run well on anything made today.

I haven’t personally used it but librephotos looks promising

I was seeing articles on p.d about a month ago saying so. I’m having trouble finding them now. Maybe I misremembered but I’m like 90% certain they did.

Made by. They link futo.org as their ‘company’ on the immich website. It’s open source so if you really want to use it there’s nothing wrong with forking it.

Never seen that list, but that’s a good resource for keeping track of these orgs.

Nextcloud certainly can be a cumbersome beast. I’m glad it’s the second thing I chose to selfhost instead of something much later on. Gave me a chance to get my feet wet with it. I’m a big fan, but I think if I’d started with smaller services I’d be upset about the breadth of the project. It is absolutely trying to do everything it can, which can be good or bad depending on your use case.

<political> Immich is made by futo, an org who just donated a couple mil to a fash dev to maintain some vibecoded post install scripts. Nextcloud does everything Immich does through some extensions available in their marketplace. Don’t support fash soft. Use eurojank instead! <\political>
Y’all Idk what happened I straight up can’t find the source for this. I’m gonna actually check in with my mental health provider because I remember reading this clear as day but it doesn’t seem to exist. I could be confusing dreams for reality again, which would be disappointing because I thought I was more stable than that.
I’ve been looking for sources, but I can’t find anywhere. I’m certain I read it on THIS SITE, but in my search I can’t find anything about futo from the last couple months.
Genuinely, I apologize for spreading misinformation, I’m gonna call my psych tomorrow.

4GB is fine on a proper operating system. I’d still be using my 2011 mba with debian if it wasn’t for the fan noise.
If you genuinely need more, good for you buy something more powerful. Most folks just use web browsers, and if you stay out of the chromium ecosystem those tend to be relatively lightweight in my experience.
I’m also of the opinion we should abandon the modern web and shift back to gopher but that’s just like, my opinion, man

As a beginning web application dev (I know django and some js, am little baby dev), would it be worth looking into preact instead of industry standard tools like react? Am I asking the wrong question?

I think I’m gonna move the goalpost on my life goals a bit.
New Life goal: Have more started projects than projects relegated to the ideas drawer.
DHCP gave me 170. I said “let’s make this static shall we?”
