no shit about the bay bridge, though. I’ve not driven across that hellhole since 2018.
Same here. Trains are only cost effective in the SF area only if you don’t own a car. If you have a car, even traveling alone, almost every trip is cheaper even with $5 gasoline. For me I’d have to hit about $8/gal and pretend my time is free to have parity with a train. If I could not own a car, I would, but I don’t hate myself that much. And since I have a car, I only use public transit within the SF core (mission->north beach range)…which is funny because more often than not I just walk to my destination since SF is so fucking tiny.
no, biden selected an actually decent anti-trust lawyer to head up the fcc. for all people hate on him, the president’s main power is in the institutions not the man, and biden selected some bad people and some good for institutions.
this message was stolen, wholesale, from https://pluralistic.net/
if you are into this stuff I’d suggest a read (even if you disagree). this is the guy who made the term ‘enshittification’ which has become (perhaps wrongly) popular during the txixxer meltdown.
naw she just learned to drive in vermont
agreed, i think we all hope they extinguish teams
they were the last major anti-trust case, and apple, facebook, google, amazon have all taught microsoft its safe to get back in the deep end.
google for all its faults seems much more open about security. Apple is a marketing company that tangentially makes hardware. Its good hardware, but its still tangential.
you’re a huge jackass, this is irrelevant to my message, make your own you colossal piece of shit.

monocultures are at risk to a single vulnerability, you don’t need more than 1
yes, 16 year olds are famous for their long-term planning.
you know who has nothing to lose from a privacy perspective? a teenager whose life is constantly monitored anyway. Why would a teenager care about apple reading their messages when there are much nearer semi-existential threats like mom&dad reading your messages?
“people who don’t have to pay for things and whose only economic system is peer pressure prefer the high end phones their friends use.”
“no good reason”
spoken like someone who has never tried to use that browser. it definitely supported addons, but tried to implement 2015 features to run on 2002-tier hardware
this point of view is morally indefensible
