I’ve definitely seen “median trees” and “sidewalk trees” here in Atlanta get removed or replaced after a car hits them. But for sure, large trees can easily shrug off a car crash. Those are just not usually in heavily urban areas like these tanks are meant for.

Not that it is super relevant to this discussion, but last month someone with a chainsaw cut down multiple (I wanna say a dozen or so) trees along a street in Atlanta in the middle of the night. Who TF would do that!!! Sad and pointless…

Dumb take. If someone crashes their car into one of these, it can be replaced in a few days. Trees take decades to grow in ideal conditions. Between tall buildings in a city is far from ideal conditions.

Also algae is way more efficient at converting CO2 into O2; I think it’s maybe multiple times more efficient using the same amount of light.

  • I’ve found the opposite to be the case unfortunately. Plex “just works” while my jellyfin server had almost constant issues with subtitles (two of my frequent users need these because of hearing problems) and would frequently crash requiring docker restarts.

I adopted jellyfin very early, used it for many (maybe 6?) years and these problems only got worse over time.

I always prefer open source (often to a fault) but I am glad I switched to Plex a few months ago. I got the lifetime pass for cheap for black Friday. I still leave jellyfin running for a few users, but everyone else has already switched over.

  • There’s are multiple leftist gun associations and they all have my full support (and the SRA has my membership).

Unlike the MAGA lunatics, the left actually has something to protect: those who are under attack and are unable to protect themselves. The women and the LGBTQ+ people in our country NEED to be able to protect themselves because the government is obviously not interested in their safety.

These organizations are not militias. We don’t plan attacks, we don’t conspire to subvert order. Our purpose is to train and protect those who need protection the most.

  • I went into Walmart yesterday for my annual soap/shampoo/mouthwash bulk purchase as they have the products I like at the best price (in bulk). I got to the section and it was all locked up behind glass…

I turned around and walked right out. No idea where I’m gonna get it from now, but I’m not gonna support that bullshit.

The claims of mass losses due to shoplifting have been proven false multiple times over. These are just racist store policies intended to make you spend more time in their store or to buy online or from mobile apps.

    Enshitification keeps on keeping on.
