Linux@lemmy.ml•Why isn't there a Windows community? Is Linux winning?
9·15 days agoi find quite ironic that it’s full of troublshooting, while linux comms are primarily full of entertainment. “Windows just works out of the box” btw
Sure
tiling goes brrrr tho
also, special workspaces. Love me some special workspaces
Aaand pyprland zoom is also pretty handy for a sight-impaired guy like me
KDE is cool, but i was a heavy shortcut user even on Windows. Me discoovering Hyprland is akin to a drug-addict trying out heroine, because i can’t go back now.
ngl, discord kinda had the best UX before the enshittification began
Well, can’t say for everybody, but i have no trouble running nvidia gpu on Hyprland with nvidia-open drivers. Haven’t spotted any troubles with Plasma or MangoWC either, even though i haven’t used them for as long.

Thanks for my new wallpaper :3

it’s a bit more complicated. Linux runs games with anti-cheats perfectly fine as long as the anti-cheat doesn’t require kernel-level access.
Basically, this allows to detect some cheats that would be undetected otherwise. But it also allows anti-cheats for absolutely unrestricted access to any user data. In other words, it’s a giant safety vulnerability, that you’re forsed to intall, that still doesn’t solve the cheating problem.
Not like the devs are actually interested to solve anything anyway, cheaters buy new accounts regularily, stimulating post-release sales.
i use cachyos, runs swimmingly for me. I’m not sure arch is good for your usecase tho.
Mediacenter/homeserver? I’d personally choose something like fedora, but debian sounds fine too
kde, hyprland and mangowc are working without issues for me on cachyos with gtx1660

wait till you find out quickshell
