  • Yeah it would need to be straightforward and with as little settings as possible as I don’t think it’s what console gamers are looking for. Just watching at videos about games running on Steam Deck and seeing how many different settings you have to choose to get the game running is depressing for me.

About the prices, I also checked Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty and it was 5 dollars cheaper on PS Store than on Steam. It’s clearly not a small indie game though…

  • If physical disc drives disappear, I might leave consoles and only use a Linux gaming PC as they would lose a big advantage in my eyes.

In a way, I guess we really need Xbox to get back to shape so that Sony doesn’t become the only player in its market and doesn’t try anything stupid.

This or Valve releasing a gaming console/pc for your leaving room for approximately the price of a ps5.

But I just made a comparison online as I was trying to buy Star Wars Jedi Survivor and the game is around 80 dollars on Steam, 40 dollars on the ps store and 49 dollars for the physical version on ps5 on a swiss (my country) online retailer. So when people are saying that games are always cheaper on pc, I don’t think it’s always the case.

  • I also discovered that these are pretty cheap and really upgradeable while looking great.

I would never buy anything from Apple new, but old Mac Pro or MacBook Pro are really tempting.

Converted my fiancée ´s 2012 MacBook Pro to Linux two years ago and it’s a great machine which shouldn’t be collecting dust.

Sometimes people underestimate the treasures they have lying around 😅

  • Sometimes making an iThing (iPhone) work with another iThing (Fiancée ´s Apple TV) isn’t as easy as it should. Streaming the nba app from my phone to the Apple TV was a nightmare a few years ago. Now I just use my PlayStation as the nba is hostile to Linux even in a browser.

So, taking into account the fact that Linux is free and works on almost any hardware, I can only congratulate the people making Linux possible.
