Same! I got mine preinstalled with my new Fairphone 6

I’ve been using Bazzite for a year without ever touching the terminal. I came from Windows.

It’s been working perfectly for me with no tinkering.

This reminds me of the time when I met a British girl during my backpacking days in Australia. She got very upset every time anyone called her Sarah (American accent), because her name was Saaaarah (long first vowel). Everyone around her did their best to accommodate her. But it never even crossed her mind that all of us intentionally pronounced our own names in a very English friendly way, to make it easier for her as an English native speaker to address us 🤦🏻♂️
I always present myself with a pronunciation that is easier to pronounce in English. Saying my name as my mother calls me is just weird and strange when you say it in the middle of an English sentence. And likewise, I think it’s strange of people to assume that I should be using sounds that don’t exist in my native language to pronounce their name, if that is the language we’re speaking together.

I came from iPhone 11 pro. Honestly, I can’t really come up with anything that I miss right now. The switch to android took a bit of time to get used to but it was surprisingly easy actually. And I started my degoogling journey BEFORE switching phones, which really made it easier for me.
Hmm, I get your point. But as far as I understand, all the data that these apps are using come from the openstreetmaps database. So the reviews from Mapy ARE separate from the map. I love having them in the same app though, because it’s just so convenient.

Mapy is the only one that I’ve found where you can rate places, like restaurants. That’s one of the features that I’m missing the most with these other alternatives.

I’ve made almost the exact same switches as you. I also got the Fairphone 6 with e/OS and I’m loving it.
I’m using a mix of CoMaps and HereWeGo instead of Google Maps, and I love walking around using StreetComplete to help update the openstreetmaps. It’s way more fun than pokemon go 😜
My biggest wish would be for CoMaps and Mapy.com to unite to make one, awesome Google Maps alternative, including the possibility of rating places like Mapy.com is doing.

I speak multiple languages, but always try to speak the language(s) that include the most people in the room. I find it very offensive when people near me speak a language that most people don’t understand, when they could have easily switched to another one, and I would never do that myself.

I’m so happy I’m not gen z because that makes no sense whatsoever 😂🧔🏻♂️👴🏻

What does that even mean? 😳

What? Why would anyone use a crying emoji as a laughing emoji when there are so many different laughing emojis to choose from? I’m starting to feel old…

Thanks for the tip! I can’t find such a setting. Do you find it in the general settings app somewhere?

I only use it to charge the phone, so nope. Works just as expected. I rarely even have to charge it, the battery is awesome compared to my old iPhone!

I got my FP6 with /e/os a few weeks ago and I love it so far! Only downside is the camera which will apparently get a software update eventually.
Edit: someone told me to enable the HDR setting which wasn’t enabled from the start. So there’s hope for the camera yet! I haven’t had time to try it out but it sounds promising.

I try to update this in OSM every time I find information missing. Its like playing pokemon - gotta catch them all! ;)

Mapy.com does!
Absolutely yes

Love this! We definitely should try to spread Linux to become more accessible and popular.
