Just FYI, the striped pole attached to the hydrant is so it can be found under snow.

Drusas@kbin.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•With the ubiquity of inflation and shrinkflation, why aren't there more boycotts? When will people say enough is enough?28·1 year agoThe biggest shrinkflation culprit is food. People need food. Recent trends do, in fact, show that American consumers have been switching to cheaper brands and reducing consumption of some items, but boycotting is unrealistic. People need to eat and a handful of massive corporations own most brands.
Looks like someone doesn’t want to deal with the hassle and (small) cost to dispose of a couple heavy chairs.
They’re sending the bill stub back, claiming that this is payment in full, without including any actual payment.
That is absolutely not something that most kids do.
Similar story. I think my exact words were, “If you hire him, he will railroad you.” 'Nough said.
That sounds reasonable until you consider that kids starting out at their adult life very often only have friends and family who could act as a reference.
I once had a former friend (as in, we had a falling out due to him being a constant asshole) apply to the company I was working at and list me as a reference (we had also worked together for a couple of years at one point).
Oh boy, did he not get that job.
Right, but the form she shared a picture of says “food stamps”, and that’s just not going to happen.
I could almost believe that, actually. It’s easy to get initially approved for SNAP, but they’ll follow up to get proof of your being low-income pretty soon and then cancel if you can’t/don’t do so.
Except that the program hasn’t been called “food stamps” in ages, so she clearly is making it up.
Drusas@kbin.socialto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What's the food young children make in other cultures?8·1 year agoI’m the US, the first foods I was taught to make were breakfast foods. First the safe stuff like cereal, frozen hash browns, frozen Pop tarts, then (around age six) pancakes and French toast. Deviled eggs were also an early first.
Voting doesn’t require ID in the US.
You really should.
I have a friend who is too beautiful (and unfortunately meek) for her own good, attracting stalker types with horrifying regularity. This is a great change.
