Its a mech suit that the more you consider it a freeing source of maneuvering the world the more attached to it you become and safer you feel from the rest of the world. No matter it makes people have all kinds of emotional responses that are unpleasant for the rest of us.

I think people all just hate each other more now. Generally stress makes little aggressions feel more extreme and the world is in fact falling apart at the seams.

Plus scientific studies have shown people with more bumper stickers were more violent and more likely to commit road rage seeing the car as an extension of themselves and interactions with the car as attacks on personal self and people are much more aware of “personal space” than before covid probably upping the sense of the car being an extension for more people.

Damn… Same. I was always excited for Elio which was supposed to be American made and use a moped engine that got insane gas mileage and cost 7 grand. Before their factory was bought from underneath them and they scammed everyone out of their money.

Yeah I’m fine with just taking a train that will last way longer and is staffed by my local citizens who are being paid for their labor and effort and rent a well made car made from a respectful compamy or buy it if I need it long term.

But I guess I might just be a conservative socialist cause I don’t think mass produced with slave labor, with stolen raw materials still from Africa, millions of individual electric vehicles is still any form of solution for anything least of all climate change.

Right but also people rarely expect constant 100% eye contact. The occasional glance to show connection is actually more than enough for basically everyone and can be learned to done pretty easily. Its not needed but even the simple glance of eye contact makes people feel way more seen and heard.
Then you can just talk past each other the rest of the time as is standard.

Its never been easier to be lazy and unplanning about things and use other peoples time to try and cure your own boredom.

Yeah I guess we mocked those Bluetooth earpieces too much because now I wish everyone had one cause I’m so tired of people holding their phone 4 feet from their face at max volume yelling their conversation.

Some do some don’t. I love to play the mash buttons and hope for a real person game but more often lately it just ignores you or says that isn’t an input and keeps you locked in the automated, cause their just isn’t a person on the other side being paid to actually pick up a phone.

It would probably help if phone calls still really existed as a method of getting stuff done but the amount of places not bothering / having automated / foreign staff for their call centers makes them basically pointless and a completely different skill set compared to old school charisma and phone etiquette.

Patience and stubbornness to deal with the bullshit and still keep the effort applied will win.

Not some skill that feels nostalgic and forgotten like phone calls or cursive will save you from the onslaught of time.

I have felt this way about the Elio for years now. We aren’t allowed new competitors in car companies apparently.

Look at the 16 Wheeler truck cabin for an extreme version of it, high up viewpoint and a large front means larger section in front of you is obscured, vs the lower to the ground but gentler angle down of the tank making it slow to see the grounds you can see shorter objects for longer.

I mean I had actually had a conversation a long while ago when I originally fell in love with Annapurna games about my perceived dangers of it being run almost single handedly by a billionaire playing around with her Dad’s money that the level of control she had would make it risky to treat like a legitimate company but they really put the gold star stamp of approval on so many games they made and published.

Honestly this won’t really hurt the billionaire. She has the publishing contracts still and whatever partial finished games were already in development but I really do hope the best for the actual talent and employees.

I really want to see them help push into that more united gaming labor force that the Henry Stickman developers foundation (Outersloth), and other groups are doing to let them actually help games be unique and good.

We need to invest in our citizens, cause suffering struggling people will pick any easy option to try and make themselves feel safe. Its not just education but work and healthcare and community and local events.

Its just that we have done everything to not bother spending money and steal back every tax dollar for the rich to hold onto.

It’s seen as financially “smart” by all parties for decades now. We need to go back to trying to build society instead of deciding it’s done and getting as much money back from it.

Well then it can’t be the worst… Hmm we will have to do some digging for worst Batman movie but let’s start by accepting bat nipples and giant bombs that say “boom!” on them automatically elevate the movies.
