Sigma is at the end because it’s too much of a cool loner to conform to alphabetic ordering (unironically)
Somehow it feels like this whole essay could be summarized in a single paragraph of, say, 3 proper sentences
Wasn’t STEAM supposed to be something specific, not a replacement of STEM? Idk, I just know the acronym because Angela Collier did a video.
Plenty of stuff that works much better for white guys that speak English and with the right accent, because that’s who they are mostly trained on (image/speech recognition, spell check and translation, lots of medical stuff but that’s not very tech). Not sure about straight.
Edit: oh the image said cis, not straight. That’s easier.
Computer science: pi is O(1)
So much in this beautiful equation
!yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com tends to side with the pro-AI side, it’s not very neutral
Canon differential geometer hair

That looks way too smooth, and the mistakes (random white specks) are not the mistakes anyone would make in ms paint. There’s a whole art to “realistically bad” art. The kinds of mistakes and weird details tell a specific story. (Andrew Hussie, the person who made the Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff one, has a bunch of forum posts from like 2010 talking about it)
No. It doesn’t have the Latin ending -us, but actually ends with pus (fom the Greek word for foot). From the Greek origin, the plural would be octopodes. Octopuses is more usual.
Incompleteness means that maybe it’s actually impossible to prove or disprove the Riemann hypothesis, or whether P=NP. I think that’s a big deal. Maybe the fact that there are meaningful results shown to be unprovable (like axiom of choice) is more satisfying?
For me, “imagine a circle” is kind of a meaningless instruction until you follow it up with something
Maybe I should block more. People say you only need to block like five users to drastically improve your Lemmy experience.
Feels inspired by one of my favourite Tumblr posts
Edit: played through some more paths and those were definitely inspired by the post :)
Both people sound obnoxious lol
It’s not bad grammar, it’s more like an internet dialect. Reminds me of fantasy books that capitalise special nouns
There’s another way?
