I just don’t trust major updates not to break something (with good reasons). I have to have a working pc, so I update when I have half an hour of free time to install and roll back if need be.
But if you’re a normal person who shuts down their PC on a regular basis, the updates literally *never* bother you
That’s just not true. I never had a habit of having my pc run 24/7, and windows updates bothered me immensely since win 7

- brown
- jews
- asians
- gay (as umbrella term, come at me lesbians)

- overwheight

- homeless

AI will be amazing for totalitarian regimes. They did not have the manpower to survey everyone (gestapo had like 30k staff) and had to rely on snitches and terror.
Until now! Let AI read all the surveillance data, flag people it thinks are suspicious and forward it to a human officer. Hitler and Stalin would shave their mustaches for this kind of power.

The article touches on it, but I cannot see how would you fundamentally solve the safety issue. It will be heavy (frame and batteries) and strong (to be useful as well as move around all these batteries), comparable to a human.
Who in their right mind would have a thing that can ran out of power and crush your dog, choke a baby when it though it was a pillow or just like… grab a knife and stab someone cause today it feels like Mechahitler.
