Whoa, how did that happen?
Whoa, how did that happen?
We had a new Engineer start, fresh out of college, and he was terrified to call people at first. Now, only a few months later, he much prefers it as a more effective means of communicating.
They tried that with me once, but I showed them and got a different job.
Government can throw you in jail.
Yes, or lemmy.
I’ve been trying to make sense of the whole “weird” campaign, but concluded that it’s actually just confusing and I’m not really sure what they are trying for.
This is like one of those April fools announcements.
This is a complete non story.
Someone hollered “shooter down”, then Trump got up from under the pile of secret service agents. Under those circumstances it doesn’t seem that strange for the crowd to be a little pumped up. But yes, these situations usually take a few days to settle and for the facts to come out. Rumor mills and conspiracy theory engines are going to be in overdrive meanwhile.
Nice, that’s what I’m talking about.
Interesting idea, because my boxer briefs support my balls in the middle, but my dress pants have one seam down the middle, so when I sit for prolonged periods I get a seam uncomfortably squishing my equipment. If instead the seam was always resting to one side or the other, I wouldn’t have that problem. To fix this, we should either have underwear that better accommodates a middle seam, or my preference would be pants with a built in pouch similar to underwear. It would accentuate the “bulge”, but we could get used to that.
You were awake when your elementary school teacher taught you about the American Civil War, and you didn’t side with the resistance.
The problem with politics on lemmy is that it isn’t a discussion at all, but a one-sided circle jerk. Almost every post is some flavor of Right Wing Bad, and any attempt at nuance or calling out hypocrisy results in a sea of downvotes and what appears to be shadow bans. There are no dissenting opinions allowed. If you spend your time consuming heavily moderated and filters content, it’s going to produce anxiety. But more importantly, it isn’t even reality.
What do you think it would it look like if it did?
It’s ok if certain jobs can only exist to provide income for young people so that they can learn to budget, save, buy things to pursue their interests, and so on. I had a job at DQ making minimum when I was 14, left when I turned 15 to make 1.50/hr more, and found yet another job when I turned 16 making another couple Dollars per hour. If you didn’t have minimum wage or very low wage workers willing to do these jobs, then they probably would cease to exist. That means no more ice cream. When I was 14 I appreciated being able to earn extra money even though I didn’t need it, and now I appreciate buying ice cream every once in a while at a reasonable price.
I haven’t dabbled with that stuff for years, but I could go back to that as well I suppose.
Yeah I suppose they would hop on as well. The idea that my experience would be tailored according to unknown algorithm and agenda kind of scares me.
I’ve never used an iPhone, been a die hard android user since the beginning, but I might switch because of this. I don’t care about AI and don’t want it on my phone.
That wasn’t so hard, was it? People tripping over themselves to find a gotcha and forgetting to use a little common sense.
