Technology@lemmy.world•AI adoption rate is declining among large companies — US Census Bureau claims fewer businesses are using AI toolsEnglish
5·2 months agoLarge companies (defined as having more than 250 employees) have reduced their AI usage, according to the data (click to expand the Tweet below). The slowdown started in June, when it was at roughly 13.5%, slipping to about 12% at the end of August.
Someone explain to me how I am to see this “rate” as - is it adoption rate or usage rate? IF it is adoption rate 13.5% of all large firms are using it? and it’s declined to 12%? Or is it some sort of usage rate and if so, whatever the fuck is 12% usage?

72·5 months agoIt is strategic necessity for China for energy security and for their own environment. Their predominant source of electricity has been coal which they have abundant of but is polluting the air they breathe. Does anyone recall the issues they had at Beijing Olympics? They have insufficient sources of oil and gas domestically. Alternative energy sources are their best domestic source of energy.

Looking for a single source for all information is the pitfall. Wikipedia has and always been internet war on “narratives” whatever the field may be. It is perhaps a starting point for most generic of things. But when it comes to topics that are related to or with implications in cultural, political, geopolitics etc in nature, there is information war going on. And the winners are usually the side with the most number of people writing on wiki. To trust it as the ultimate source of facts would make one fallable to a more sophisticated form of influencing that we see on social media.
Wikipedia has ALWAYS been a war front, and not a reliable source of info.

Man! Now that you mention it I haven’t seen monarch butterflies in my area for a few years now. We used to see thousands of them every late summer when they start their migration to Mexico. I feel sad now. :(
