Apps give way too much access to phone data, whether the developer collects it or not. As you said, Apple has access and has capitulated to the Trump fascist regime already. The app leaves enough fingerprint for them to use. A Web app is just a safer and more available option.
Society needs to give billionaires the same treatment. They should feel safe nowhere.
This shouldn’t be on the app store. It gives the US government too much access to pull data from it, or order it pulled down. This should be a web app hosted outside the US that can be accessed by any device and can be obscured by VPN access so the regime can’t persecute participants. Apps pull way too much data from phones that ICE can subpoena.
If your company takes care of you and treats you with respect, most people will think of this sort of stuff and reasonably accommodate. Most businesses with this mindset of don’t take PTO are just running skeleton crews to boost profits at the expense of work life balance. They are typically the ones always guilting people about taking the very sparse amount of PTO offered in the US. I am union and my company treats us well, so I always think about my team without being asked. I didn’t when I worked for shitty big chains who took advantage of workers when I was younger.

I like mine. They are really easy to set up for people not well equipped to set up more standard IP cameras. They also have a great feature set and no subscriptions required. Home storage is safer in today’s anti-privacy climate.

In a court of law - they need to be able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt to charge you. If they can’t prove you were going to the torrent site to download illegal content, a good lawyer will get you off. They may try, but don’t make their job easy. The more obscured you are, the harder it is for the content owners to sue and they will likely move to an easier target.
And a VPN to torrent behind. Pressure on torrenting prosecution is growing and AI tools to detect piracy are being developed.
