Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Suggested setup for stremio+debrid?English
2·20 days agoAiostreams is another add-on substitute. I’ve liked it so far because it’s super customizable and keeps my stremio interface clean based on the filters I’ve put (though filters are a double edged sword of you restrict too much). You can then have torrentio and other file sharers configured directly to it.
For TorBox, the essential plan has been great so far. Real debrid has taken a pretty crappy turn (logging user data, blocking connections, etc.) while torbox is more lenient and flexible to say the least. It has both caches and fetches from whatever add-ons you put in the Aiostreams (or alternative) add-on from my understanding.
Depending on your internet, it would download to their server and cast on your device pretty instantly - their connections are fast.
Also note that torrentio has been failing a lot and I think there are a couple of alternatives to it. I think torrentdz or something?

United Kingdom@feddit.uk•I won't accept exclusion within Green Party, says Polanski after criticism of Zionism motionEnglish
22·1 month agoAn ethno-supremacist political ideology is very different than an ethnicity, because not everyone from that ethnicity prescribes to that supremacist ideology.
Unless he’s simply saying as a blanket statement that they abide by the motion and also don’t exclude anyone. But it seems like he disagrees with the motion on the basis that it might excluded people on the basis of ethnicity (and therefore conflating the two).

If you were paying attention about automobile privacy, you would known that democrats signed legislation into law in 2024 that requires all cars sold in the US to have driver monitoring software.

Partisan politics mean squat in the privacy sphere.

1·4 months agoMy solution is just a work around because it would be so much easier if Stremio did have separate accounts as part of it’s function, but we work with what we have.
-
It should unless your debrid service specifically restricts signing into multiple devices. Most just restrict multiple IPs
-
I’m not sure to be honest because I haven’t had to replace the default stremio discovery myself. I think someone else mentioned that you can. Or you could at least add a catalogue with pg-13 filters.
-
I haven’t done this before, but my understanding is, yes, it would give separate apps

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•Stremio streams not working with Surfshark + TorBox alternative?English
1·4 months agoI will add that if you want free streaming, then TorrentsDB works better than Torrentio.
But if you’re paying for a debrid service like Torbox, then it might be redundant to have TorrentsDB and it could clutter up your Stremio UI.
From some of the setups I’ve seen out there, people’s optimal method is to have AIOStreams add-on in Stremio, then configure AIOStreams with the Debrid Service and their chosen filters. It’s supposed to lead to a cleaner and more responsive Stremio UI.

1·4 months agoI’ve only used it as an add-on with Stremio tbh.
There are probably better options for self-hosting than it.

3·4 months agoTorrentio has been restricted depending on the country that you’re VPN-ing from. Even without a debrid, just VPN, torrentio on stremio was rarely working.
Ended up using TorrentsDB, a torrentio alternative add-on that uses the same scraped data as torrentio but was more readily available.

I don’t know why you’re facing those issues with TorBox. I signed up with a VPN on and no issues. People tend to prefer TorBox specifically because they don’t care about your IP address and they accept multiple accesses to the same login. Are you using a bank card for payment?
Worst case, try signing up for TorBox from a public wifi or similar.
Also with TorBox, they’re pretty private already and you don’t necessarily have to use a VPN. But you still can if that’s what you want.

The more add-ons, the more fingerprinting btw
