Isn’t nvk supposed to be a part of what nouveau provides like how RADV provides vulkan functionality for the AMDGPU driver.

Yeah no pressure. It was just bugging me as the issue was seeming very random and unreproducible. Thanks for all the work on the app
I have tested with around 20 instances. The popular ones like lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, etc, a few of the feddit.country domains and a few random instances. Lemmy.one seems to be the only one suffering from the issue. Now i haven’t tested all the instances so maybe some obscure instance faces this problem but in my experience only lemmy.one suffers from the bug.
The 5-6 other instances I tried out did not face this problem. Just to be sure, I cleared the app’s cache and user data, force stopped it and then viewed the post using lemmy.one as the base instance and was able to replicate the problem. @ljdawson@lemmy.world
I tried some things out and I have learnt a few things.
Edit : I changed the instance that the anonymous feed uses from lemmy.world to lemmy.one and was able to replicate the issue. It seems the issue lies how sync is fetching comments from the lemmy.one instance. I will try out if other instances run into the same issue
I will try changing the language but there does seem to be a subtle difference in our cases. He couldn’t see the comments on the official website but I can. I will still try the solution though
Maybe use that information to try and influence the public in the same way that cambridge analytica did for the 2016 elections.
For translation you can use this. Since you can use Google translation service as the backend(?), it works as good as Google translate atleast in my experience
Good news about page translation, Firefox is adding it, and it’s all done locally too, no phoning home to their or somebody else’s translation servers.
Till then there is this open source extension which provides the same functionality including local offline translation
@ljdawson@lemmy.world were you able to recreate the issue? I went through the settings and could find nothing that I could have done that would lead to this issue. All I have changed since installing the app is changing fonts and font sized. Almost all other settings are whatever they were by default.
Hell there comments in this very thread made by you and me that don’t load up in sync. https://lemmy.one/comment/2596964.
If you have not been able to recreate the issue, I will make a post enquiring as to if others are facing the same issue or if it is some problem on my end
Lemmy does not have push notification support. To enable notifications, 3rd party apps will have to make API calls to the lemmy API at regular intervals which would be costly for

Video showing the bug
No filters set as far as I am aware. I will try to link a video of the issue if possible.
Clicking expand does not work on my end though. When I click to the expand the comment, I get a ‘no messages found’ pop up at the bottom and the comment just disappears
There is this comment as well (not mine) which I cannot see/expand on sync but can on other apps.
My friends who took computer science told me that we don’t totally understand how machine learning algorithms work. Though this conversation was a few years ago in college. Will have to ask them again
Artists, construction workers, administrative clerks, police and video game developers all develop their neural networks in the same way, a method simulated by ANNs.
Do we know enough about how our brain functions and how neural networks functions to make this statement?
In an ideal world without greed, you are right in saying that copyright is not beneficial for the human race as a whole. Unfortunately we don’t live in such a world. Look at what happened with insulin. The person invented it placed a ludicrously low priced patent of one dollar because he felt that it should be available cheaply to all who need and yet today in the US, insulin is a ridiculously expensive drug which many people struggle to afford. This is because while the inventor was not greedy and thought about the greater good, the pharmaceutical industry did not. They saw an opportunity to make money and are screwing people in the process
When have fedora gone their own way ¿? What have they shipped that is not standard on Linux¿? Closest thing I can think is using selinux and firewalld instead of Apparmour and ufw.
