I’m very much in favour of gender abolition, but I’m not sure that’s what TERFs who self describe as ‘radical feminists’ mean by the term :p
“Radical” feminism, ie, not true feminism. Hijacking the name to try oppress men ‘in return’ for women being oppressed, or to oppress trans people.
So apparently now “men’s right activists” also doesn’t mean what it is just like “feminist”? I find all this redefinition of words really annoying and confusing :(
Can’t “men’s rights activists” just mean people who advocate for men’s rights? Or better yet, stop with the binary gendered language, and instead advocate for gender equity?

Technology@lemmy.world•System76 on Age Verification LawsEnglish
101·9 days agoIt’s more about experience than age. If you prevent 13 year olds from gaining online experience, they’ll have the same level of inexperience when you expose them to the internet at 16.
The point is that the internet shouldn’t be censored though, we shouldn’t be giving corporations or governments the keys to censor the internet based on any protected characteristics (one of which is age), even if it’s done in a ‘private’ manner. What comes next? Sexuality/gender verification? You can only view porn if you’re the opposite gender? Race verification?
I went from windows to Manjaro to Fedora :p

71·12 days agoThis is just more child abuse disguised as “parental rights”. It becomes clear how harmful this is when you realise that not all parents have their childrens best interests at heart (even if they think they do and sincerely mean well) and allowing parents to censor the information children have available to them allows them to censor information that the children learn only too late to prevent harm.
