The whales wouldn’t complain about this one anyways. When this mount was available in-game on the auction house it was probably around 5x the price in USD assuming you bought wow tokens.

I’ve heard people are starting to do this on TikTok as well. I think it says more about us a civilization than anything. This is a clear scarcity/enshittification issue. Everyone wants good value and good quality products. Unfortunately a lot of mom/pop shops that produce those products don’t want to expand and if they do end up franchised capitalism’s ever growing desire for increased gains ensures that the franchised products only become worse over time.
It’s a clear shame to see capitalism pitting people against each other in this fashion.
Pretty mainstream. When I was a kid most people struggled to learn how to laugh these things off. These days if you speak on any platform it’s a good idea to have some mispronunciations because it catches peoples attention. Even if it’s the only thing they’ll talk about as long as you’re good natured about it you’ve made progress.
Reject smart cars because they’re collecting your data and it will be used to increase your insurance rates.
Because if you don’t like your healthcare in the US, you certainly can leave, but you will be stuck with the bill, and if it’s considered leaving “against medical advice,” you will be denied insurance coverage if you return for the same issue.
Insurance is just a pain in general in the U.S. For instance some people might struggle to find a new doctor in their area if they’re dealing with a specialist and have specific insurance coverages which means cutting off their toxic doctor might be more difficult.
Burning bridges to escape toxicity is fine, just don’t strand yourself.
I stand by my opinion that learning systems training on copyrighted materials isn’t the problem, it’s companies super eager to replace human workers with automation (or replace skilled workers with cheaper, unskilled workers).
I mean it’s the heart of the issue.
OpenAI isn’t even the big issue regarding this. It’s other companies that are developing and training specialized LLMs on their own employees. These companies have the capital to take the loss on the project because in their eyes it’ll eventually turn into a gain as long as they get it right eventually.
GPT and OpenAI is just a minor distraction in regards to what is being cooked up behind the scenes, but I still wouldn’t give them a free pass for that either.
Someone leaked their discord and there were a lot of instances of them discussing grooming as an avenue to creating their “perfect high value male” or whatever they called it.
At this point people can believe in whatever they want as long as it doesn’t harm anyone else. Someone believing in a bunch of crystals and burning their money on them is a lot less harmful than other beliefs that I won’t mention.
Would’ve thought FDS had been shut down by now after the grooming scandal.
Sure, if they’re abandoned.
The issue is that we have so, so many stray cats. So, so many cats left in shelters. We do not need people to breed more cats just so people can have their very expensive and very specifically bred designer furbaby. We need people to take care of the ones that already exist and are already struggling.
If only more people adopted in general instead of spending money on designer pets.
Same when I’m getting some Tums. They think it sounds like greenies.
Can relate. All my cats think my pill bottles are the same as the treat shaker. I always end up giving them a treat afterwards because I feel bad.
Older millennials and Gen X were the ones that organized a lot of the multiplayer groups on old MMOs and other multiplayer games. In a lot of communities they’re the ones that seem to reel the most whenever games make changes that break up content to make it cooperation less encouraged.
As a younger millennial who hit 30 recently, I understand the feeling of wanting to step away from multiplayer games due to toxicity. I have played games where having someone cuss at you on voice was the least of your worries due to doxxing and irl harrassment including people having their families and work places called.
People don’t understand that high numbers of people not voting is a symptom of a problem, not a problem itself.
It’s such a good metric to have and unless you’re a fan of authoritarian governments then I don’t see why you would want mandatory voting. “Everything is fine in our country. Look at all of this engagement in our elections that we forced.” That’s what you sound like if you full on back mandatory voting.
I don’t get the hate for non-voters. Mandatory voting is a dangerous practice due to the existence of the “donkey” vote.
Imagine if even 2/3s of the people who didn’t vote in 2020 just voted for DT because he was the current sitting president and they had no interest in voting but were forced into doing so.
The only people I’m really upset with are the ones who have a clear viewpoint and understanding of the circumstances but didn’t vote out of laziness or out of the belief that we’d win anyways. Those are the people that cost us 2016 and those are the ones that could potential cost us this election if they don’t get out there.
It’s a shitposting meme. The poster has this pinned on their twitter:
That said… I have heard horror stories about poor theater staff finding cucumbers after the 50 shades premiere. Some of it was just people memeing and trying to prank but I’m not entirely sure about all of it.
And a bit of malware with it. I specifically remember one of those Runescape cursors had a search bar download with it and it was not secure. 10 year old me didn’t care though.
Even if AI was absolutely impeccable it will always feel better to use products that involve real human beings.
It’s like a lot of things in life. It depends and it can be complicated.
Upfront costs for infrastructure besides the panels themselves is expensive and in places where electricity is already cheap companies won’t bother.
You also have to conduct tests to ensure that the grid and transformers can handle more power, and if they can’t then you have more infrastructure that needs upgrades.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t do this. We really need to in the long run but it isn’t something we can simply snap our fingers and do instantly.
Also, a lot of the unprofitability comes from VC culture in my opinion. The individuals at the top of businesses often times won’t stick around with the business long enough to start see the savings from solar energy.
Unless you live in the deep south where half the women support him despite how it’s essentially self-hatred.
My parents constantly complain about how I don’t date people native to our state/general location. I think the last time I actually dated people who had roots here was 8 years ago in university prior to politics being ruined by Trump.
