The sales price for the thing is supposedly going to be around USD 20,000 in Mexico. If the car doesn’t meet standards for crash in the US I would expect the price to go up a bit from there.
It makes sense that there would be some pretty hefty electrical system upgrades to do bidirectional charging.
You can power the grid with solar panels that sells excess back but that’s not free.
You could put in a generator for backup in a power outage. That’s not free either.
In theory you could put in a battery pack and charge it at night when the rates are cheaper and then power your home in the day. Business are already doing this. It’s just a cost benefit analysis.
It’s basically single of the year and album of the year.
From Wikipedia:
Record of the Year is awarded for a single or for one track from an album. This award goes to the performing artist, the producer, recording engineer and/or mixer for that song. In this sense, “record” means a particular recorded song, not its composition or an album of songs.
Song of the Year is also awarded for a single or individual track, but the recipient of this award is the songwriter who actually wrote the lyrics and/or melodies to the song. “Song” in this context means the song as composed, not its recording.
Album of the Year is awarded for a whole album, and the award is presented to the artist, songwriter, producer, recording engineer, and mastering engineer for that album. In this context, “album” means a recorded collection of songs (a multi-track LP, CD, or download package), not the individual songs or their compositions.
From the perspective of the tram driver there are a lot of trees along the tram way. Those trees could make a blind spot for the driver if a kid was playing along the tracks.
My point is that why replace one danger cars and then write off the other dangers as irrelevant. With some effort I think we can get both dealt with. However, if this is Helsinki how has this actually performed? That can help guide risk assessment too.
I like the trams. I like the trees. I like the greenery in the city. I don’t like that the tram pathway looks like a field to play in from the perspective of a young child.
Seagull isn’t rated on NCAP and I don’t think it’s certified for sale in EU either. Not saying it doesn’t meet but it’s not rated either.
