This is a tool, and I know I’m gonna get hate for this, BUT!
This is super useful in a secondary classroom. Let’s say you have a class that’s going to read The Outsiders. In an 8th grade class you will have reading levels ranging from 2nd grade to 12th grade. This allows the entire class to have discussions about the book regardless of the strength of their ability to read.
I know that truck
I ain’t no stranger
I know that truck
It’s a Ford fuckin Ranger
It seems weird to me that they would measure a thruster in maximum speed and not by the force is generates. Doesn’t the maximum speed depend on the mass it is propelling and a bunch of other factors like friction and gravity?
I think “ankylosaurus” is misspelled. The only reason I know that is because it has always been my favorite dinosaur.
I’ve worked on supposed “Agile” teams that operate this way, and worked on an Agile team that actually work ridiculously well. The biggest issue with Agile isn’t the philosophy, it’s when management starts using it to cut costs. This comment is what it turns into. Notice that every single one of these points lower cost. But one of the main assumptions of Agile is that the workers control the work, managers support the workers. The places I’ve been where Agile didn’t work it was because management was unwilling to buy into this basic assumption, then use Agile as a crutch for not giving the team what they needed to be successful.
The one successful team I was on that was Agile, the entire group of around 12 worked directly with the customer, and our manager’s role was to ask “what do you need”. It was hands down the best dev role I was ever in (before I became a teacher).
Ask for an itemized bill.
It’s not entirely wrong. There is absolutely a bias in what gets studied simply because it requires money to be given to study most things. For example, it’s why some more natural remedies like taking fish oil to help lower cholesterol took so long to have actual scientific backing; there’s no money in widely available remedies so finding funding to do the study was difficult.
You can see this really clearly if you look at more politicized areas, like economics. And for what it’s worth, it doesn’t mean that the evidence that’s generated is bad (although the conclusions drawn from it may be), but that it results in a lack of evidence for opposing viewpoints.
That’s not true. Fox News gets through just fine.
Our school did that, but ran into an issue that not everyone around us did the same. So students that were involved in after school sports would sometimes be leaving after 5th period (in an 8 period day) 2 or 3 days a week. They’d need to leave around 2/2:30 to get to a 4pm game and have time to warm up. That had a pretty negative effect on their academic performance.
Teacher here. I can explain this as: at any given time only about 1/2 the class is listening to instructions. I’m guessing that 4th period is a smaller class, but they did well because the teacher could better monitor what they were doing. I’d be willing to bet that 7th period is the largest class.
The fact that the George Floyd protests happened during this time of WFH and actually took hold for a while completely support this claim.
Not a man, I’m an enby, but I’ve been married to my wife for 15 years.
Showing a woman love often means shutting up, listening, and empathizing. Not fixing.
Yea, but does the AI ask me why “x” doesn’t work as a multiplication operator 14 times while complaining about how this would be easier in Rust?

“Convenient Downtown Locations” assumes that there is ample public transit to and from those locations. For example, we took a train into Chicago from a small town in Iowa. There was absolutely no public transit going to that station. It was literally a 2 hour drive to the station, and that was the closest train station to us. Additionally, once we got there, we found out that our train was running 6 hours late. This wasn’t communicated to passengers until it was about 30 minutes from the scheduled departure time. This was for a train ride that took 4 hours, and was the same cost as a plane ride that would have been about 45 minutes, and the airport was about a 25 minute drive from our home.
We could have driven the whole thing in 4 hours and it would have been about 1/4 the cost.
I used to play a ton of Escape Velocity back in the day. I still consider Nova to be one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. Naev is ok, pretty good even, but it’s not quite up to what Ambrosia did with EV.
What makes you think only people with admin access use a machine? He wouldn’t allow it for anyone, admin or not.
