“I’m knittin’ like a fuckin electric nan”
It doesn’t matter why the republican base believes in their party. Incidentally, you’re not entirely wrong about why, but they’ve had rebellion too: see the TEA party.
The democrat party strategy is different. Their base isn’t aggrieved axe-grinders. They’re earnest believers in the system. The problem is that the leadership doesn’t actually want to accomplish anything that would threaten corporate profits. Trump is great for them, since all they have to do is not be him! Policies be damned.
It’s because democrats are unwilling or unable to deliver on real policies for working people. Of course, republicans are the same, but they more or less don’t even pretend to, choosing instead to whip up their constituents with culture war nonsense. Nobody has any faith in things improving. Repubs just want to get revenge on their cultural enemies, and democrats (voters) just want to prevent a total slide toward the far right.
Dem politicians can’t whip up excitement because it is impossible to get people excited by neoliberal policies, but that’s really all they have. Vague platitudes only work so many election cycles in a row before voters just can’t even pretend to be excited anymore.
tl:dr republicans are awful but at least their base believes in them.
That dude was so fucking hot.
Depends on your school/classes. I had no problems. Last school I attended used MS for email etc. I got a discounted license for Office which I was able to access in the browser if/whenever LibreOffice wasn’t a good option.
Probably yes. This would be for if you are starting fresh. It is a modified Debian install.
Yunohost is self hosting. You install Debian on your computer/server at home and run the Yunohost setup script.
Yeah, I can’t fuck with Docker either. Check out Yunohost if you want something that is actually easy to get up and running.
Love it. Been using it for almost 10 years now. I host Nextcloud, Navidrome and Gotify. I have used it for other services over the years. Super easy and really friendly and responsive support.
Nice one. I was aware of Edgy EFT, but I started my Linux journey with Feisty Fawn.
I went to a party in maybe 2003, that had basically a mini studio setup in one room. An SLR camera on a tripod with some studio lighting. People would just wander in there and snap some photos. It was pretty cool. Waaayyy out in the middle of nowhere VA.
This is true. There’s even a Linux command to grab the license key. The key won’t work on any other hardware tho, so it’s kind of useless :)
Show-er problems.
Ah. Sorry, I should have looked it up for you before I commented. I see someone else posted an unofficial version. You’d probably be happy with that, though not being official does kind of remove the advantage over other ROMs.
After years of ROM-ing phones, I recommend using LineageOS. They are going to have the longest support for a given phone. If your phone is available in their list, that means it is well supported with all functionality.
I’ve had some problems with mounting disks in my user home folder. I can’t recall the details, but it did cause me a headache at some point.
In Thai, the number ‘5’ is pronounced like “haa”, so Thai people write 555 to signify laughter, similar to ‘lol’.
I take the same precautions crossing a Chinese border as I do crossing a US one.
That’s cool. I definitely plan to try again sometime, as it sounds like it has some real advantages. In the past I tried using some projects like DockStarter.
Certainly a modest proposal.
