When you stream you’re still downloading. I prefer to have finer grain control over my buffer zone for when I’m offline.


I use RSSHub to generate feeds for my subscriptions, then use this trick on Thunderbird to open video links directly with yt-dlp.
I use LocalSend to move the videos (and other files) to VLC.

I have a system involving multiple devices. I download the videos with yt-dlp on my computer, then send them to my phone for mobile watching.
😅 I just hate checking individual pages with their own algorithms. Give me one Inbox in Thunderbird with everyone’s messages.
