Have a good time coming up with insulting names
I would get creative with it, just because she’s horrible doesn’t mean you don’t get to have a good time. “The purveyor of lies”, “fount of unreason”, maybe give her a nickname that relates to one of her mistakes. If you can come up with something new every time it can become like a game, even if you’re only saying them in your head.
I sweat like crazy and if I need to be running for more than an hour I’m going to want something to drink. But if I’m running an ultra (or doing a very long hike, or bike packing) having variety in fuel sources is really good for your mental health.
A friend of mine hardly has to fuel during ultramarathons and I am very jealous.
Also shout out to trader Joe’s for selling olives in little pouches. Also great for long days.
Edit: for those scientific people out there, salt isn’t the only thing that helps you hydrate, sugar also helps bring those salts and water into your system. So when I make my own sports drink I use the WHO recipe for Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS). Which is really salty, but as stated above, I am a very sweaty boi.
Sugar also is fuel for running longer, so I don’t see why not.
I like pickles for hydration. They are basically zero calorie, savory, and pack a ton of salt. Most hydration stuff out there is sweet and on a long day sometimes you need something to break up the sweet fitness snacks.
I use Plex and jellyfin, honestly, plex only stays around because of plexamp. It’s just too good. I don’t like using streaming apps like Spotify or whatever because they’re not as good
I watched a video a little while ago , I think the only value winamp has is nostalgic and historical. If it was really open source maybe we could get a really good fork and that’s about it, I think. Maybe I’m missing the point, let me know I’m not very smart at this stuff.
So I was teaching some kids snowboarding, one kid started talking to me about musk on the chairlift. He tells me that musk is the greatest engineer to ever live. I say that he’s really more of a business man buying up companies. Kid is not convinced. I tell him that the only engineering that musk may have done was software engineering on PayPal. Kid thinks that’s great support of his claim.
Adults and 11 year olds are pretty much the same, so I would say there’s lots of people that think musk is a super genius. Probably a dwindling amount, but there’s a lot of people on earth.
Yeah I agree, it’s not a very good graph. I just get frustrated when people ridicule the US political system for everything. We have a lot to fix (like what’s causing women to become more liberal), but I think we need to focus on what’s actionable and reasonable to fix. We can’t become +20 more liberal overnight.
The graph is about young people, not the entire population. Young people in America are historically more progressive than older people.
Also why does liberal and conservative have to be on an absolute scale? The words liberal and conservative seem to me at least be about pushing politics in one direction or another. Because policy is always subject to change, shouldn’t the words liberal and conservative be relative to the political system they exist within?
Now that you mention it, I seem to remember Xenophon stumbling across giant ruins that perplexed him while out on campaign. I think they were Persian? It very much could be drawing on the experiences of people seeing the ruins of fallen empires.
Edit: AI is telling me that Xenophon traveled through the impressive ruins of Assyrian cities, he was fighting the Persians.
I wonder who did this first? Didn’t ultima have a storyline like this, or am I misremembering a game from before I was born

Why does he want New York to go back to the 70s? Wasn’t it kinda shit then?
I feel like you’re getting pushback because your definitions. Do you think you could define, open source, free, libre?
Why does software licenced under the gpl not fall under open source? What problems do you have with the OSI’s definition open source.
There is the old saying that “People don’t quit jobs, they quit bosses.” My advice is to go to therapy first, I think the question will sort itself out after that.
And then you get to the weird addiction space where I feel guilty if I haven’t gone for a run in 2 days. Humans are weird.
My brother was building ebikes back in college back when companies were just starting to sell them, so this was somewhere around 2010(I’m not so good with numbers). When he built his it was more of a moped. It had a throttle and a hub motor and could go pretty darn fast, though technically counted as an experimental vehicle.
I believe back then there were still laws about how fast a bike could go before it was considered a motorcycle, at least in New York. But I think going fast was part of the appeal of early ebikes.
There was a very hacky feel to the community then. I remember visiting my brother and seeing a guy ride an ebike with a trailer that carried all his batteries.
I’ve had a lot of luck joining a run club, but there are other activity based clubs. The trick to these though is that you need to keep going to them for a while before you really start becoming friends with people.
What’s really worked for me was working as a snowboard instructor on the weekend. I’m not saying do that specifically, but finding a second job based around teaching is an amazing way to meet other people who like meeting new people and being nice and sharing their skills and experiences. I should specify, the people I meet are other instructors. I’ve also met some people at events, like when I got my avalanche rec 1 cert.
I think it was around the time of the windows 10 beta, I was trying that out and also dual booting with Linux mint.
I remember being a little frustrated with getting games to work great on Linux, but even more frustrated just using Windows. So I thought “Linux makes me less mad, I’m just going to use that”
I think the grey area is that their is either no single one rights holder, so who’s going to sue you, especially for a game they may not be able to use themselves. Or for defunct companies that hold the rights but are out of business.
Meaning it’s grey in that it’s too much of a hassle or not realistic to sue you for infringement.
I’m also talking out of my ass too, so please correct me.
