huppakee@feddit.nlto Leopards Ate My Face@lemmy.world•'They quit after a few hours': Farmers admit they can't find American workersEnglish20·2 days agoI read somewhere the US both has a really high incarnation ratio (as in amounts of prisoners per x citizens) and a high percentage of externally employed prisoners. Interestingly those stats where compared to Russia (Siberian labour camps) and China (Uyghurs in forced labour).

It would be more worrying if he’d answer something like ‘o that car? You could let me use it’ or ‘I can sell that for you’. I think it’s wrong to assume all old people are vulnerable confused and sick, and also wrong to assume a sex workers has less moral values because of the way they choose to make a living. I think the way they communicate show that a) she has a sound mind and b) he treats her honestly like a friend and not as a target or victim.
Have you also read she lives in Canada while the claimants live in Australia and waited four years to voice their concerns? That says a lot too I believe.

Also, people are much more likely to break the law if they believe there is a high chance of getting away with it. So just having a sign might fix nothing, if the people to do not fear the penalty enough

Rules that aren’t enforced are merely suggestions.

They should be grateful for the escort that their aunt had company, considering how awful loneliness is.

Only one of these things is treated as a safety crisis.English171·6 days agoI agree both are a public safety issue, but there aren’t many similarities beyond that. For one, most people guilty killing or seriously injuring someone with a gun intends to so cause that result while people who are guilty of killing or seriously injuring someone with a car are unaware of the danger they pose or aren’t able to estimate how to react in a certain situation. Yes both need to be taken very serious, yes both are a big problem but their solution is very different. Although one more similarity which blows my mind is how unwilling American politicians are to keep more people alive.
huppakee@feddit.nlto Today I Learned (TIL)@lemmy.ca•TIL No Kings Protests were the 3rd Largest in US History1·7 days agoI was trying to say that. Seeing others puts a ‘narrative’ that is different from theirs in your own head, because you see with your own eyes. Everybody still needs to adress all incoming information, it’s not always apparent it is a false story.

I’m not saying gradual non-violent changes is what US needs right now, but your statement is false and I think you should stop instigating violence in this thread.

This destroys the narrative of the protested party. They cannot convincingly talk about ‘a few misguided people disagreeing’ when you see so many others who feel like you. Even if nothing would be achieved by the protest, this is an immensely powerful confirmation of an individuals beliefs. 100% agree.

Might be even less depending on your produce, also keep in mind that farmers don’t have the same costs every year nor the same yields. A bad year can totally finish them in a bad economy.
