Languages I can speak: Hungarian, Lisp, Broken Engrish
That was my guess, that it’s pronounced similarly to something else, but I didn’t know how to pronounce Barium in English. Wikipedia says it’s bɛəriəm/BAIR-ee-əm I wouldn’t pronounce “bury em” that way, but I know my pronunciation is not good. I speak like the Hungarians in the Monty Python sketch “Dirty Hungarian Phrasebook”. These kind of jokes don’t work on me.
What is the joke here? Im stupid
I save the email address and phone numbers of the people I worked with to my address book. Why would I need linkedin for that. I read news of my profession from blogs in an rss reader, so I can stay up to date. I follow specific forums, and comment there frequently. Linkedin is just one more social shit you can live without perfectly fine. Of course if you don’t want to live without it, you can’t
I never said it wasn’t useful (mostly for headhunters and HR people), but it always had shady tactics and if you didn’t know it’s original purpose you could think it’s some not fully legal scam company…
Linkedin became known as a terrible platform when it spammed every email address the web, it was like 10 years ago. Than it was bought by M$. What did you expect? Suddenly a platform which is known for only bad things becomes the epitome of correctness?
What was fmovies? Some streaming sites?
These things are come and go, but old ways of the warez are still working. I remember one of my classmates taught me how to torrent more than 20 years ago. I had to change trackers and cliens during the years, but I never had to think about things like this because the workflow will always be the same.
Soulseek is still up there since 2003.
Who is pat? I guess it’s Patrick Volkerding, bdfl of slackware.
The diagram is the search interest for the “new” name? There is a new movie titled similarly. (I don’t follow superhero movies since Superman 3. That was perfect, I’m not interested in new developments.)
What is an EA?

Ohmygod, that changes everything wow, I would never expect such an unforeseeable twist, this elevates the writing to Shakespearean levels, Anakin is the new Hamlet, thank you for this inspiration.
I don’t like sand. It’s coarse and rough and irritating… and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth.

So it means something like “Please do not use this for paid warez, I don’t want DMCA this repo”. Makes more sense.
But sooner or later someone will do it, I don’t see that single sentence will stop a get quick buck script kiddie from an undisclosed eastern european country…
How is it MIT licensed and “NON-COMMERCIAL USE ONLY”. You can’t have both.
This is misleading, because if you search for MIT licensed software this will show up, but it’s not that. Limiting commercial use means it’s not even considered open source but just source available
If you tell this joke in a linux community, its funny. If you tell it to someone who doesnt know what linux is, its not
This workflow requires very specific consistency, it’s not recommended for beginners. Strict diet have to be followed as a preparation to achieve a perfect Bristol Type 1-3 on demand
Yes, patent is from 2009, greentext from 2013
download movie -> watch movie -> seed it for a while, at least some days -> delete
I have like 10 movies saved for archival, because it was hard to find them
do not kink shame. everyone can have its own fetish
sidebar says unix is allowed and ios and macos are still unix. but this joke is so far from the theme of the community, you could change the ipad to a windows CE tablet from the 90s and the joke would still work. unix is just some background item here, casually mentioned
it would fit better in microblog memes or maybe math memes
