Another obligatory ‘why the fuck are you still on there, go and leave’ comment here.

You know, I want this to happen. Because, I like to see stupid ideas blow up in the faces of the idiots who think things like these are what’s best for the world.
And maybe I hope the originator meets their end when one of these decides to kill him.
“No child left behind!, no child left behind. Oh really? It wasn’t long ago you were talking about giving children a head start. Head Start-Left Behind. Someone’s losing fucking ground here.” - George Carlin
At this point, everyone is breaking the law online already. It’s just a matter of the level.
This will not do anything. Kids are typically dumb online, adventurous, but dumb online who’ll do dumb things in unpredictable fashions. It’s like putting all of those plug covers to make sure children don’t pull them off, except they will and do, prompting them to curiously stick a fork into the socket.
That senator is more concerned about what’s online for kids, than how Republicans are actively pushing kids to work jobs that are unsafe for them. Might want to re-evaluate your priorities, dude.
Don’t even get me started how kids have long been able to lie about their age online to get to adulterated content.
“Here, I just want a space where we can just talk about the idea of talking about what we would like to talk about!”
I hear you there. The last full time involvement of participating on Reddit for me was like a couple months ago. I couldn’t complain about my job anymore, like everyone else that normally complains about their jobs, without getting downvoted to oblivion over it. Why? Because “dats what reddit does!” is pretty much the only logic that it can boil down to when it comes to Reddit - it’s because that’s their bastardized logic and they happily carry it out. Just so anybody they don’t like, is discouraged from participating.
Everyone turns everything into an unnecessary debate because people want to sound smarter than they really are.
E-mail is never going to lose relevance. It is too heavily used for it to go away. It’s used to register to many, many places online.
Facebook is just being treated as a place you glance into to see how everyone you know is doing. Nobody really uses it for anything beyond that.
Or it’s really a month old and it’s only maybe got about two responses. Makes me sigh sometimes and a little defeated in the idea of the fediverse but we’re all shoved into this position because the other platforms have sucked so much to have us here.
And it’s like we have the inventory but nobody feels like stocking the shelves.
And so it was, the scent of coffee through concrete will influence coffee drinking by 500%.
What’re the chances that some of the people programming AI are bigots themselves?
I’ve not heard of LogMeIn in such a long time, I remembered using it in high school and was floored by the capability of accessing my machine from school.
Anytime I see “private equity firm” listed I just groan to myself. Great, wonderful. Fuck you, IBM.
“Hur hur, Twitter go brrrrrrrrrrr” - Musk
What the fuck is so ‘innovative’ about sitting around a big table while people blab on and on about mundane things around the workplace?
God, that word is just spammed so much from tech companies of people who don’t even know what innovation is because they themselves haven’t done any damn thing innovative in their life times except recycle ideas.
All right, well if by your logic, I’m legally able to tell you how much of a removed you are and how little your life has meaning.
And everyone else should do the same. I’m sure you’d like that everyday if you want to complain about censorship.
Petitions won’t do anything.
Vote them out.
I felt like and always did, about how social media is one gigantic misleading bloat of a sham. We’ve already perfected communication, you cannot get any better than instant messaging and video calling. The only improvements needing to be made is just better bitrate and whatever small technical steps needed.
But in general? Social Media is just overinflated. It overcomplicates communication. And all that social media is, is one gigantic data farm that we all contributed to, because social media was touted as a thing that was going to change the world, the next big thing. Well, it was right in the beginning but it took us too long to have seen the detrimental effects it has on the world now.
Then again, it’s like, we’ve already had social media in it’s simplicity. So okay, you didn’t get together with your favorite niche group in instant messaging. However, there were things like MSN Groups back in the 2000s. There were Yahoo! Groups too. So it’s like, what exactly did Facebook, Instagram, Twitter .etc really bring? Nothing that you couldn’t do two decades ago!
The only net benefit of social media at all anymore is to reach everyone globally and that’s about all of the only net positive I can think of social media’s purpose anymore. Other than that, it’s corporate’s playground.
