10 months agoIt’d be called ‘obstructing traffic’. Police sometimes grab boy-racers along the sea-front near my home for it. There’s no specific law saying you can’t wait at a T-junction indefinitely, and i usually get stuck behind the ones that do. :-(
For the same reason that cars with engine sizes above 2-litres are rare, and always have been rare - petrol is more expensive. Automatics used more fuel, so they were only standard on high-end jaguars, mercedes, etc. Simple as that.
