My advice for running the software on a work PC: Don’t. You can buy an old used laptop off of eBay for $50 in working condition that works fine as a media center. $50+the convenience usually isn’t worth your job, but YMMV.

Honestly the best way I’ve seen this handled is how Odysee did it. There’s crypto involved, but ignoring that, they essentially just asked users to choose to allocate an amount of their hard drive/bandwith to be used for storing, and sharing videos.
That would work better from an end user perspective, rather than running their data usage up, and using storage on a storage-limited device like a phone, and I’m sure there’s a way to incentivize it that isn’t crypto

I doubt anyone else will know how to deal with the server tbh. Nobody else really uses it, either. Inertia’s a pain, and while I do technically have other users here, I think the most recent login aside me was 6 months ago. They’ll have access to the password to get into stuff to handle whatever accounts they need to, and I may include instructions on how to turn my blog into an epub file if they want to do that, but the server itself likely won’t last more than a month after I die.

This. I self host some things because it’s just fun, other things because of censorship, other things because of privacy. I probably wouldn’t have Nextcloud if Google wasn’t collecting so much data. Probably wouldn’t be self-hosting my blog if content weren’t as censored everywhere. I probably would still be self-hosting a Minecraft server with a small website for said server that the members of the server can contribute to when they find/do something cool.
Publii is probably what you want. It’s a GUI similar to WP/SquareSpace, but it spits out static pages.
I got really into customizing my system for a while, but now that it works I just leave it be, mostly. Most recent major change was my update command now spits out a list of packages, so if I need to reinstall I can just shove that into pacman
Yeah, doing unixporn stuff can be fun, but when I do them I never actually use them anymore. It’s just GNOME now. Just wish I could use custom cursors, since they’re fun. If I do a fresh install, though, it takes maybe 30m. Archinstall script + I have a local git repo that has a list of packages I have installed, plus an org file for various configs

Quite frequently, at least given the language they use around some of it, they demonize it because they fetishize it. Given the general anti-sex bent (usually for Christianity-based reasons) of the far right, it’s a “temptation” they have to resist, which then puts the fault on the “tempter”, not the person with the fetish they can’t accept is fine to have.
I was raised in a conservative family, and one of the things that made me a whole lot better was that it’s fine to be into weird shit in bed. Not saying that’ll always be the case, but it is part of it. Some of it is just people who’re grossed out by feet thinking that it’s a moral failing to be into feet, some of it is people who’re into feet and feel guilty about it. Guilt, and shame do things to a person

Admittedly omg.lol isn’t a traditional registrar, but they do give you a domain name and other stuff (I don’t use most of it), but it’s $20/yr
Namecheap varies, but last I checked it was a bit cheaper. Not by much, maybe $15/yr for my .monster domain?

Honestly, I don’t even code much, and I didn’t at all when I downloaded emacs, but it’s so damn useful that it stays open any time my PC is on. Only time I close it is to make sure that my files stay synced when I leave my laptop on, and do something on my desktop.
At what point do they just… Pull the app from stores. Like seriously. All it is is a portal to patron+push motifs, which mobile browsers can do
