I ran into this exclusivity thing and sent a message to the author. He promptly gave me a copy of his book (since he is prohibited from selling it to me). So I sent him a tip on ko-fi for the amount of the book.

No promises every author will do this, but it went pretty well for me.

It’s a hard expiration, it can hit while you are using a thing.

This whole reply strongly agrees with my own personal bias, but I wanted to ask the question just in case I’d talked myself into a position when really 20-minute windows was somehow psychologically better. I just couldn’t fathom how, and glad to hear my initial “wtf” position seems to be the correct one.
