I was not a fan of this guy before this video (he gave off southern white christian church vibes, and I stereotyped him into a group I dont like)

People I know are going to gather at some high points around the city like it’s fireworks.

It was alright, started to rewatch an old anime whilst working to a deadline and the days began to blur a little. Went to a barbecue yesterday with the neighbours which was nice, got to catch up with the ones I knew and met some I didn’t. They’re musicians so they played us live music and it was wonderful, until one of the guests choked on a sausage roll and their kid fell into the pond. I dragged them out but had to choose between the two victims - I saved the kid, but the guest bought it and was an influential donor at the hospital where I work so I caught the cold shoulder from the staff for a while until all the naysayers went silent after eating poison candy; 18 years later, that kid turned out to be the cuplrit as well as a prolific serial killer under a slew of different aliases with ties to Czech secret police, so now I’m stalking them methodically across Germany along with their twin sister and a jilted lover to right the wrong I made that fateful day

I mean I guess he’s eating fine. Either he gets to go home every evening, cook a protein rich meal and have at it the next morning, or, if he has to sleep on the mountain, he must get decent deliveroo up there

A whirlwind, that’s how I remember it. My condolences. I hope he left his affairs in a good state that doesn’t require too much extra stress, cost, and family feuds

I’ve just finished my doing up my backroom which was the main blocker for me going to the gym because I had to sink every free hour I had into moving it forward.

Now that it’s (basically) done, I suddenly have no excuse not to go the gym now. Other than the fact that I don’t want to.

To play devil’s advocate (for absolutely no reason other than what other kind of answer were you looking for here), I think America’s only problem is trust in its fellow man, and this is largely exacerbated by the media who over-report on violent acts.

Not that they shouldn’t, of course, but you look at the crime statistics in the 70s on anywhere in the planet and the murder and kidnapping rate was way waay up, yet hope/community seemed to reign supreme in the streets because no one paid attention to the minor violent occurences happening out of sight around them.

Not saying that ignorance is necessarily better, but I think fear is the main enemy of the people and the media knows it and wields it to the absolute delight of the government and their corporate sponsors.

That fear culture is definitely creeping into the UK via what I’d call US interference (no doubt with plenty of helpful spoonfuls from Russia and/or China), and people are definitely turning on each other… but you don’t see it too much in the cities

Ooh I have a fancy bike too, and it’s fast but I just don’t like riding it because it’s got no mass! I need something with heft so that when I’m not on the up or down stroke the bike isn’t seemingly pausing between strokes due to lack of inertia

(All in my head btw, the bike is faster than my old steel frame, but I just like the feel of the steeler more)
