Ya, I was playing around with I think auto mounting? When I was new to Linux and asked ai for help. It ended up brimming my system, Luckily I documented what it said to do and was able to boot into recovery and reverse it.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Hypothetically, if you were a kid and your parents worked for a government intelligence agency, how would you keep secrets / have privacy from your parents?
12·4 days agoWell, parents can already do that. I think the basic solution is still a VPN. Can’t read encripted traffic. Tor would be tempting to say, but a lot of nodes are owned by the government still would be better than nothing. Other than that, use strong passwords, set the browsers to delete cookies on close, use a password manager.

1·4 days agoPretty sure that’s on YouTube’s end. You can disable the homepage with “manage tabs” in settings.
Was hoping to see this

2·7 days agoSetup is easiest if you download if from their github I’ve been using it for a while, fair warning it can be a bit slow at times. To download a YouTube video, just click on the VOD then click download. For a playlist, click on the copy icon in the top right for it to “convert” it (not really sure what that entails) then the download button.
In that case I might need one…

What idiot wrote this? It’s complete nonsense… Oh right.
A skilled programmer can make self documenting code, so I always document mine.
I’ve had a mostly good experience with pop. It’s definitely a different workflow than I was used to, but it works for me. Looking at switching to nobra though.
I would not recommend pop!_os for beginners if they have nvidea drivers. A few of the recent updates have had problems
Wasn’t there a book or short story about a society that “equalized” people by dragging them down to the lowest level, like strong people had to carry weights around, smart people would get like a brain chip thing that scrambles there thoughts etc.
Libreworlf(PC) /waterfox & fennec (phone) right now. Have my eye on ladybird for the future
I will do as much work as I need to so I can avoid doing work repeatedly.
Id recommend mint cinnamon. If you have any problems installing it, try Zorin
Also, it can’t be any other day, because there’s no ghost of the April 14th past.

Not only does it exist. It’s good. Like way better than it has any right to be
