I found the real Spotify accounts of celebrities, politicians, and journalists. Many use their real names. With a little sleuthing, I could say with near-certainty: yep, this is them.
We’ve been scraping their accounts since summer 2024. Playlists, live listening feed, everything. I know what songs they played, when, and how many times.
Heard of the Panama Papers? That exposed offshore bank accounts. This is about onshore vibes.
I don’t see anything other than a claim of this and I’m not sure what their proof is supposed to be. Looking at the site, I recognize a few definite people I’ve heard of near the top of the list and the rest I might have heard of once or twice in passing, if that.
The first two playlists I clicked on from two different “celebrities” were profiles of a series of random numbers and both links led to the same profile.
If I had to guess, they’re hoping people will sub to these playlists to save them for later, only to hand their profile over to whoever made this site maybe even for potential phishing.
I wouldn’t even be surprised if this whole concept was a generated prompt response that stumbled onto a good (looking) idea.
