I’m not the biggest Kimmel fan personally, and Jon Stewart back nightly would be awesome. But not like that. This outcome was the best for everyone, including viewers.
Also, Fuck Disney.
He’s talking about the start of the show, not this year. In other words, the Daily Show would’ve lost 12 years of Stewart at the helm, which I can’t help but think would’ve seriously changed the landscape of comedy as we know it given how many people came up through his tenure.
Somehow I missed that. Tape makes a lot more sense now in context.
Agreed completely. I didn’t think ABC would have allowed Stewart to create what he did with The Daily Show.
That’s believable. I probably would still be watching late night tv if Jon Stewart was hosting. He will always get my support after watching him on 9/11. I get the measure of him. To hell with Colbert, kimmel, Fallon, and Meyers. Wipe the slate and get some new people on the roster.
Colbert: whine about trump
Kimmel: whine about trump without charisma.
Meyers: whine about trump while thinking you’re original and clever.
Fallon: feign amusement in whatever guest you’re paid to promote this week.
We don’t have a lot of choice in what to watch before we go to bed these days, but it’s not like I’m still watching over the air tv anyway.
Wipe the slate and get some new people on the roster.
I don’t think they’re filling the spots with a talk show.
