I have seen the first episode. Parts are a bit clunky and parts are good. Star Trek shows have a long history of having shaky pilots so I am going give this show some rope.

The music is not so good and I am not what to make of the ship, also the uniforms kind of suck.

I haven’t watched any Star Trek shows in is entirety since STNG, so I have no idea what “The Burn” is, I suspect that will either not matter or will get explained later.

So far the character set ups have been good. There is some good seeds planted there.

I do have to tip my Holly Hunter. She looks great.

This show is extremely stupid. I’ve never been so disappointed by a Star Trek premier… Except for discovery. That show is also shit

Really? In order for me to be disappointed I have to have some expectation of quality.

Star Trek Shows have lousy for decades. People say Deep Space 9 gets better after the third season, I never made it that far, because I was around when it premiered. I have never gotten past the first season.

Voyager never hooked me, nor did Enterprise. I found Janeway’s voice grating and Enterprise had too many low angle shots of Bakula’s package.

Discovery and Picard were utter dogshit… good lord. Strange New Worlds is all over the place. Parts are really good and parts are just so bad.

Strange New Worlds is the most consistently good Star Trek has ever been.
Your single takeaway from Voyager is… Telling.

For DS9, yeah, they don’t even introduce the main plot line of the series until the end of the second season. A lot of it early is continuation of the same threads from TNG, and it gets much better in the seasons where it finds its own identity after TNG went off the air.

Honestly, Lower Decks is the best Trek we’ve had recently.
