Never seen it on any of my comments before.

I’ve really never understood this feature, seems like only a very small amount of people would ever use it… And I can’t see anyone doing so regularly.

EDIT: I just copy the info into a message to myself in whatever messaging app I use… I’m not out here with a library of old comments like some weirdo.

I use it constantly. I don’t like doing screenshots because I like my photos on my phone to mostly be family, cats, and work, so I’m always using the save feature if there’s something I might want to revisit.

Are browser bookmarks useless too? Saving posts/comments is really no different, the feature is there so you can refer back to them later. I have a few that I have saved with useful information in them and a relevant with some frequency.

I used to save comments on reddit so I could refer back to them later. One was the one when PowerBall first hit a billion dollars and someone wrote out a very detailed plan of what you should do when you win the lottery, others were tech support, pirated ROM links, etc. I dont think I’ve saved anything here on Lemmy but I can see why some might find it useful.

I just saved a comment yesterday to remind me to talk to the user when something happens. This way i can easily find the comment instead of running through hundreds of comments to find a single one.
