I mean I’m a parent but I don’t expect that to be of any more interest to my coworkers than if I were a civil war reenactor or a golfer. it’s not for for me to say that my family carries more weight than their lives. so - yes, we do equate having a family with knitting and golf; we equate them exactly. the knitter is not less important than me.
