My friend has been hounding me to buy this for the last week or 2. I really wasn’t that interested, but he got a few other friends of ours to join and it is getting a lot of positive reviews and feedback I feel like I messed up. So I just purchased it today and gonna surprise them tonight when I sign on and launch the game with them on haha.
Yeah, this weekend it is breaking records for peak players. People like you are all hearing about it via word of mouth and getting pressured by friends. The first game was 10 times less popular. HD2 sold in 4 days what HD1 did in lifetime sales. The Devs just weren’t prepared for this level of engagement and interest. Hopefully they continue to improve it (it is already better now than at launch). For now you unfortunately just have to sit at the screen and it’ll eventually let you in.
Yeah, I actually played the first one as well since it was free. It was fun but didn’t hold my interest for long. I am definitely understanding of server issues and the struggles they are going through. It won’t leave a sour taste in my mouth, but I was very disappointed since I had no idea until it loaded!

It has team damage, so don’t shoot your friends. Or do, I’m not your dad, i can’t tell you shit.
Brought it and tried playing just to try it out before surprising them and servers at capacity is all I get… well that stinks.

And I think you are absolutely justified to feel disappointed. We are all suffering from the success of the game I feel.
