Sorry to break it to you but it factually IS about originality. That’s one of the categories the judges for this sport specifically rate on according to the olympics, or should at least, it’s obvious they didn’t in this instance.
Here’s some sites that specify originality is one of their 5 scoring categories.
And your comment is why I lost respect for those judges who probably agree with you.
You’re letting her previous performances color your opinion of what should be a fair and unbiased judging of this one performance and this one category in a vacuum. It’s originality, she was more original in her performance than a lot of other breakers, regardless of her skill (which is a separate category they rate on). I would have hoped she would have scored at least a couple of points there and just 0s on all the other categories.
I agree with your BM comment though.
I agree that notoriety shouldn’t necessarily be considered the same as accomplishment but here we are lul. I’m willing to bet she’s inadvertently pushed breakdancing people to greater hights inspite of/to spite her lul. Yea Phil is great.
Reminds me of poreotix in ABDC. Except they were good lul.
What’s your take on the judges not awarding points for originality? I’m not saying her moves were good but they were definitely original. Some of her moves nobody else did at the Olympics at all. I would have guessed she should at least get a couple of points for that, it honestly made me lose respect for those judges. What’s the point of having categories you score on if you’re gonna let other categories influence the score you give on certain ones.
I had a whole argument with a bud about her PhD in breakdancing.
My take was that she pushed breakdancing into the human consciousness significantly more than anyone in history ever has so she deserves that PhD, very few people know the name of the person who won the gold but a ton more remember raygun or at the very least ‘that breakdancing lady’. Regardless of how skillfull she actually is. Also, iirc she was actually a classical dance teacher at that school and this was just in response to the Olympics adding breakdancing, I watched an interview where she said something along the lines of ‘I didn’t even care for breakdancing’.
Apparently it’s a thing you can train them to do with a bit of effort. You cna train some birds too.
This might be a shit complaint on my part because these games are specifically for those type of people but I’m playing ff14 atm and they fuggin make me go across the world to talk to someone through a cut scene then make me go across the world again to rinse and repeat and that’s the game. I understand repetition is to be expected in mmo questing, I played wow for 17 years but at least for wow there’s some actual world exploration to be done to some degree and it isn’t usually forcing you to cross the world constantly. Ff14 doesn’t even have proper world exploration, they have teleport stones everywhere so you don’t truly get to see what’s up beyond following the quest lines. Glam, posing and rp saves that game.
At the very least he doesn’t go around shooting people, in most comics at least.
God if I wouldn’t kill to just be able to take a train like in Tokyo. The train times were usually 2 to 3 minutes apart from driving times on Google maps. Add the 10-15 minutes it’ll take you to walk out of your station to your job and I’m all for It. I need the extra walking anyways to stretch my legs.
Lul, that’s my old car. Really I just need to buy the mount and screw the holes. I just like how it looks without it better. Lots of cars here don’t have the front one so hopefully I’ll be fine for now.
I figured I would just say “I’ve been meaning to screw it in but haven’t gotten around to it, I’ll do it right now officer just gotta go buy the mount” but good call I’ll just leave it at home.
I’m chancing it with my front plate right now too. Been over a year and nothing said yet. I do carry it in my car just in case. I think it’s one of those addon charges, if they catch you for something else and want to just slam you with everything.
Idk if I would believe a dude who got 2 more tickets that same day for speeding in a slow zone and running a red light.
He could just drive normally and his car would never reach the noise level for the ticket. Dude is intentionally driving to make noise. Similar to how bikes can Rev hard to be loud or just drive normally and be less loud.
Dude, it’s not even just people who pirate might go and watch something. They’re more likely to buy merch which they make more money off of. I’ve bought plenty of merch for stuff I pirate.
Yea definitely shout out to those teachers.
I recall having a teacher who said that as long as a student was legitimately trying regardless of anything the teacher would always give them more extra credit so they could reach whatever grade they wanted to aim for. You could tell he legitimately loves teaching kids and would light up whenever a kid who had been struggling finally understood something.
Our teacher offered extra credit to anyone who chose to memorize it. It was crazy too, I almost considered trying it since it didn’t seem that hard. The extra credit was enough to affect 20 percent of the grade. Then I realized most people who would try it are probably just smart enough to get an A already anyways, I know I was.
Buying forced diversity bug studio shlop you mean. Plenty of tiny diverse indie games that do well for themselves out there.
Plenty of forks out there that still work thankfully.
They’ve infested other places too. Fuggin the sketchier pirate movie streaming sites have movies that just have gambling site watermarks all throughout the movie. It’s crazy.
