In England and Wales where I am based, there is a really useful website that has information on laws that police like to use for protests: https://greenandblackcross.org/guides/laws/. Its a bit of a shame that the National Lawyers Guild doesn’t also provide public resources on laws for the US states that they operate in in a similar way.

They were also fans of using it against left-wing protestors while ignoring the right doing it, particularly in the case of anti-genocide protests. I assume they will just find something new to pick people off in the crowd now.

That being said, since COVID lockdowns were lifted, a hell of a lot of places have become card only, making it necessary to carry one. Some people may have the privileges to be able to use cash whenever they want, but not everyone can. There are places where disability benefits disallow you from taking out the money you receive as cash; I think this is some sort of war on drugs thing. Cops and politicians are claiming credit for the quick response from local communities, and also the far right having generally really poor organizing practice, calling demonstrations in random locations they have never even seen before and not being present themselves to pull people together.
