I saw this on Mastodon. The shit rag The Sun ran a half page story claiming it was happening with the details mentioned. Their information came from an anonymous source. I usually translate that to “we made it up”.
A middle-aged nerd from the UK. I like films and write about them, sometimes for Film Stories or my blog.
Have a great day.

I really got into the television series as well, but sadly that was cancelled after just one small season, as I’m sure you’re aware.
I can struggle to write a review at times but five paragraphs?!? That’s barely an introduction for me! 😆
I enjoyed the film in the moment but as I look back on it, even though there’s a lot of things I liked, I’m not sure it is as good as I thought it was. Here’s that thought elongated into 1000 words.
I’m looking forward to this, but I’m skipping this trailer. I think they’ve revealed too much already.
Wow. That was underwhelming. To be honest, my PS5 has been treated like a PS4 PRO PRO. Catching up on those old cheap PS4 games that had Pro patches. (I only have a base PS4). I mean TLOU2 looks great when patched for PS5 and I never understood why anyone would want the PS5 remaster because to my eyes there’s very little difference.
Also, that price and no stand or drive. What were they thinking?
At the end of the day, whose going to spend £700 so that their games look a little bit better?
It’s a great film with a wonderful cast. The soundtrack is pretty fake good as well.
100% agree. The reason I love the xenomorph is because it’s so alien. A creature that has two beings in a single life form. Weird and strange.
I know it’s Ridley’s franchise but I didn’t like the way he tried to create a backstory. I don’t want it explained thank you, I’m happy enough that they’re instinct driven killing machines.
The trailer made me laugh. I’ll watch it once.
Yes, just one L for us Brits! Source. 😁
I missed this story so I just read the list and agree. There’s only two reasons that have any real bearing on the films success. The other three are just petty digs.
Additional: Dredd (Review | Dredd 3D (2012)) was one of the first reviews I wrote when my friend asked me to write film based articles for his website.
Never liked the music to be honest. They were at a Reading festival I went to one year, and I thought I would try to see what all the fuss was about. I walked away after two songs. Just not for me.
Dredd is fucking fantastic, and I’m a big fan. It didn’t perform well at the box office, which is a huge shame as the sequel would have introduced Judge Death. The trailer was only released a few weeks before the film, and I don’t think most people were aware of it.
Actually, the first footage that appeared online was a VFX breakdown, but it was removed from YouTube after a couple of days.
The problem came down to money. There’s a video from the producer which explains that all the investors made a loss, so no one is interested in financing a sequel.
Also, I’ve seen some people claim this film is a rip-off of The Raid which isn’t true as I believe both were in production at the same time.
Could have been done just with a well directed animatronic coupled with some basic CGI to enrich some textures and details.
That’s exactly what they did. A full head animatronic of Ian Holm’s likeness was built.
People who claimed to have been at a preview screening say the effect was fully practical, but that it was also a little distracting because it looked like a “muppet” (Their words, not mine.)
So in the intervening time between previews and release, they have used AI and CGI to apparently make the eyes and lip sync movement smoother for a better effect.
I agree it looks jarring in the film and I would personally like to see the raw practical shots to see how it looked beforehand.
Its Very well hidden.
Agreed. Apart from Andor, I haven’t really liked anything else. Take Obi Wan for example. It felt to me like shoehorning in a new story that didn’t need to exist at all.
The Corridor Crew with their series VFX Artists React looked at a 2004 motorcycle film called Torque. Its basically someone trying to cash in on the Fast and the Furious but with motorbikes.
Anyway, in the clips they showed, there was some ever so subtle product placement.
Can you spot it?
😂
